Torrance Park phase

Torrance Park – Phase 2

Phase 2 – Proposed residential development of 638 units and a 13,000 sq ft neighbourhood retail centre occupying 70 acres located immediately adjacent the Phase 1 development.

Murray Estates promoted the Phase 2 development through the planning process and is currently identified in the Local Development Plan as a potential housing development site extending to 28 hectares with an indicative capacity of 689 units. It has council support, having been identified for housing in the Main Issues Report in April 2016.

The proposals for Phase 2 at Torrance Park are for a mixed-use development that will include 638 new homes and a 13,000 sq ft neighbourhood retail centre together with associated infrastructure, landscaping and open spaces. Barratt Homes and Taylor Wimpey submitted a detailed planning application for the proposed development in February 2019 and approval was granted by North Lanarkshire Council, subject to legal agreement, in October 2019.  Work is due to start on site in early 2021.
