Capital overcrowding demands expansion in west Edinburgh

Limited supply has meant that the Edinburgh city centre office market is in high demand, like many cities. However, Edinburgh has a unique position, given it is one of the tourist capitals of the world.

It is very difficult for new developments to get planning permission. Residential accommodation and hotels take up much of the city centre space and a lack of brownfield sites mean that purpose built office developments are relatively rare.

Murray Estates' holdings in the Edinburgh International Business Gateway occupy a key position in west Edinburgh – an area that is seeing much developer interest due to its position close to transport hubs (Edinburgh airport and the tram) and location on the periphery of the city.
